Washington Has An Obsolete Tax System

Washington State needs to really take charge of it's tax collection system and look very hard at how it works. We have one of the most unfair tax collection systems in the country, we rank lowest on the list as far as tax collection goes, and our tax system unfairly favors the wealthy and unfairly taxes those who are the most in need.

Time to shift to a fair flat tax.

Rate: 18%
Exempted Income per adult: The first $20,000
Exempted Income per Child: $3,000
Filing jointly does not increase or decrease the per-person deduction, you just combine them.

What we'll get rid of:

State Sales Tax
B&O Tax
State Property Tax
Use Tax
Excise taxes on everything EXCEPT Tobacco, Alcohol, Weed, and Firearms.

For Businesses:

Rate: 18%
Exemptions: Wages up to $200,000 including monetary costs of benefits and any non-wage income paid out, Material costs, Manufacturing costs, 10% net profit exempted for reinvestment, capital costs such as interest, local taxes already paid, regulatory costs compliance such as licensing fees or regulatory fees, wholesale costs, other appropriate overhead costs deemed proper, owner draws from the business are treated as income and subject to both exemption as wages from your business, but treated as personal income
Taxes are paid on revenue left over after costs are taken into account.

What we get rid of:

Unfair taxation on gross sales.
Unfair taxation on business investments.
Unfair taxation on business property
Unfair taxation on purchases from out of state.
Unfair taxation which can harm hiring of new employees.

What benefits this system offers:

Clean, easy taxes at a single rate.
Takes income and profits into account when determining the effective rate of tax.
Businesses won't be taxed into poverty when they're not profitable.
Facilitates the poor and low income's ability to climb the economic ladder.
Facilitates small businesses to increase wages, hire, and invest in businesses.
Does away with 100 year old tax system that worked when we were a manufacturing state.
Facilitates a state that focuses on growth.
Gives tax relief to family farmers who suffer from high property taxes and other current tax laws.
MOST OF ALL, it's Constitutional because everyone's terms of taxation are exactly the same.
Eliminates special tax laws for specific industries which are unconstitutional (in my view).

Questions, please ask, I'll be happy to answer them!
